How massage and soft tissue therapies can help

Symptoms and Conditions

Aches and pains are a part of life regardless of lifestyle, although of course certain lifestyles encourage more aches and pains than others! Soft tissue therapy is a fantastic way of helping your body to deal with the aches and pains of modern life whether you are sporty or sedentary, everybody needs soft tissue therapy!

Soft tissue therapy involves hands on work using lots of different types of massage in order to promote the health of the muscles of your body. Don’t be fooled in to thinking that soft tissue therapy only helps the muscles though! Your muscles attach to your joints via tendons and having healthy muscles will help to promote good movement of your joints, which in turn promotes the health of those joints.

Soft tissue therapy is a wonderful way to promote your health. Often we think of soft tissue therapy as a treat, but here at Swansea Body Kinetics it is a way of life. All of our practitioners have soft tissue treatment in order to keep them in the best health they can be, in order to do their jobs well and remain pain free.

Nicole Stroh is our soft tissue therapist and has a wealth of experience in soft tissue techniques. She is training as an osteopath and so well aware of when you may need a referral for more complex problems.

How Soft Tissue Therapy can help

Soft tissue therapies and massage are specific to you as an individual. There can be many reasons why it can help with your condition.

After an initial consultation to determine what treatment is appropriate, we use a variety of techniques that aim to deal with those troublesome aches, or just to give you a relaxing massage.

What is involved

Treatment involves manipulation, massage and articulation (gentle movement) of the joints to release restrictions, to  decrease excessive muscular tightness or spasm and to encourage good movement and function of the joints involved. This promotes the healing and health of the problematic area by ensuring adequate blood supply, drainage and movement.

Session Length

Session lengths are one hour , or one hour and 30 minutes.

Great treatment, works wonders for any niggles or problems I have. My shoulders needed a fair bit of work due to general tightness and years of neglect. within two treatments the difference has been significant when testing and retesting but the difference how I felt lifting was huge. Very precise and knowledgeable in treating to the root of the issue and correcting it, very professional and super friendly. Going to be getting treatments on a monthly basis to keep me moving well.
